ABOUT

James grew up writing songs and playing in bands in Vienna, Austria. He started releasing music independently in 2010, and signed his first record deal with Milky Chance after a support tour in 2013. The album “Clarity” was released exclusively in GSA, and officially put James on the map across the territory.

In the summer of 2015 a tropical-house remix of his song "Coming Over" went viral worldwide and drew the attention of EDM heavyweights Kygo and Dillon Francis. Their subsequent remake of the tune climbed to number one on the Billboard Dance Chart, and earned an RIAA Gold Record in the USA.

A year later, following another radio smash with shooting star filous (“How Hard I Try“), James signed with New York’s legendary Glassnote Records (Mumford & Sons, Phoenix, Chvrches). Their first release “Miss You” earned two RIAA Gold Records in 2017 and solidified James’s place in the pop world.

After a break from the scene, James returned to the stage at the end of 2018 with the first single from his eight-track EP “Innerverse”, a beautifully sentimental body of work that came out in 2019 following support shows across Europe with Milky Chance, Metric, and Jeremy Loops. James’s latest single “Hands On Me” came out in November 2019, featuring friend and rising star ELI.

In 2020, James is reuniting with Grammy winning producer Will Hicks (Ed Sheeran, James Blunt, Beyoncé) for his long awaited debut album.
